NPT Division Recommendations

If you are unsure what division you should be in, here is a rough guide:

Beginner – This is a free division.  We will award one prize for first place.  This division is for first time players or players that do not want to pay.  Only a player’s best round will count.  There will be one 1st place prize given.  This will be a cash prize of $5 to $50 depending on the amount of players.  A sudden death playoff will be played if needed to determine the winner.  Also, to speed up play on 18 hole events, people in this division will start their rounds on hole 10 except for the final round, in which they will start on hole 1.

Women – This is a pretty simple one.  You just have to be a woman of any age to be in this division.  Not all NPT events will have this divisoon available.

Senior – This is a pretty simple one as well.  You just have to be age 60 or above to be in this division. Not all NPT events will have this division available.

Amateur – These are putters that do not have a lot of experience. These players just want to have fun and are not looking for a major financial commitment. These putters will be golfers over the 7 handicap mark. Seniors and kids are advised to play in this division. This entry will stay at $20.00.  In this division the player will get one throw away round for 18 hole events and two throw away rounds for 6 – 9 hole events.  Payouts will be determined by the blue payout graph.  See the bottom of this document for this graph. A sudden death playoff will be played to determine top spots if needed.  Also, to speed up play on 18 hole events, people in this division may start their rounds on hole 10 except for the final round, in which they will start on hole 1.

Pro – This flight will have great putters. Players in this flight will usually have some professional putting or golfing experience. These putters would usually be the best putter in their regular playing group at their local course. These putters will be players in the scratch to 7 handicap range.  This entry will be $50.00 at every event unless there is some sort of special circumstance where I need to change the buy-in or it is a private event that has a different buy-in structure.  In this division, a player will get one throw away round. However, they cannot use it on the final round.  In the professional division the final round will always count.  Payouts will be determined by the gold payout graph.  See the bottom of this document to view this graph.  A sudden death playoff will be played to determine spots if needed.

Elite Pro Pool Addon (Optional) – This is for super high-quality putters or people that like high stakes gambling on putting. This will be a $100.00 fee that will be in a separate prize pool.  Payouts will be awarding according to our MSOP Pro payout graph.  You can see that graph further down the page.  To learn more about what it takes to be an MSOP Pro visit www.MSOP.Pro. This will be a separate pool for the high rollers.  To play in this division you must be in the “Professional” division. Payouts will be done via the MSOP Pro addon orange payout graph.  In this division, a player will get one throw away round. However, they cannot use it on the final round.  In the professional division the final round will always count.  These payouts are a little more top heavy, favoring the 1st and 2nd place finishers in regard to payouts.  See the bottom of this document to view that graph.  Events that have this option will have a “MSOP Pro Addon” small logo placed on the event images on the “Upcoming Events” page.  The standard entry price for this division will be $100.00.  $10.00 of this entry will go into the “Hole in One Contest” pool.  Players who do the MSOP Pro Addon will automatically get entered into the “Hole in One Contest.”  A sudden death playoff will be played to determine spots if needed.

Best Round of the Day  – This will be a separate prize pool for the lowest round of the day.  There can only be one winner.  The entry price will be $10.00  A sudden death playoff will be played if needed to determine the winner.

Hole in One Contest  – This will be just $10.00!  At the end of the event every player will have a chance at the longest putt on the course to win the whole pot if they make the putt.  If nobody makes the putt the money will roll over to the next event.  “Mini Events” will not have this option. Only “Standard Events” and the NPT Tour Championship will have the Hole in One contest.
